Another year, another Kent Film Festival and in my opinion another success. Alright, so the entries were down on last years figures, but I thought that the quality was as good as in other years. It was not all bad news the attendance numbers were up substantially. What clubs and individual film makers have to look at is in the drama category, there is just not enough entries in this class, in fact the acting award was not given because the final judges felt the acting did not come up to standard. I know we have people in Kent who can make this type of movie.

As chairman of SERIAC, I am always impressed by the high standards our county festivals achieve and certainly the Kent Film Festival was in that tradition this year.

Six people I must pick out for praise are Tony Smith, Freddie Beard, Mike Shaw and Beryl and Peter Hughes plus the chairman Mike Turner, long may you reign.
